Snow storm – 2/5/10
You are receiving this notice through the Beach
Haven Office of Emergency Management in order to test our system. We are anticipating a snowstorm in our area
which could have the potential to deliver 12-24 inches of snow. Blizzard like conditions are forecast for our
area.
Winds are expected to gust in the 45mph range, and
flooding is expected to be in the mid to moderate range. The department of Public works requests that
you park your vehicles off the roadway in order to be able to clear the
roadways of all snowfall. Please
remember to follow safe practices when shoveling a large amount of snow, lift
small amounts at a time, take frequent breaks, and above all dress
appropriately. Should you experience a
power outage lasting more than an hour phone the electric company at
1-800-833-7476 to report your problem.
If you have a problem with your furnace that lasts more than 4 hours
please call NJ Natural Gas 1-800-427-5325.
During times of extreme weather if there is a power outage you may not
be able to use your home phone if it has digital components, please go online
to the Borough website at http://www.beachhaven-nj.gov/bh_emerg_mgmnt_globalcon.htm and register your cell phone number with
global connect so that we can update you with any pertinent information
regarding the storm or flooding issues.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
